On the occasion of 72nd Independence day, Lt Gen Girish Kumar VSM, Surveyor General Of India has launched SOI mobile App to enable all Survey of India staff to contribute their services in data updation and in-turn Nation building. This App is the beta version and will be used in the initial phase by SOI employees and staff only. Users will be given login to capture and update the Geo location in database. Final version of the App will be made available to a large set of users to capture and update data on a wider scale to fulfill the objectives. Location base services through crowed sourcing is the latest process to collect updated ground information to enrich the National data base.

The inauguration inaugurationwas done by Hon'ble CM of Karnataka on 16 Jul 18 at Ramnagar, Karnataka. The project is being executed by Survey of India, on the request of Commissioner, Survey Settlement and Land Records.

Secretary reviewed the progress of all the technical works being done
by Survey of India in the last 9 months as per the mandate and further
discussed on the target to be achieved in next 6 months.
Yoga Practice classes ( Day-2 ) on 20-06-2018 was organised in the morning ( 06:00 -07:15 AM) at Survey Stadium Hathibarkala Estate, Dehradun . A Large gathering of children, women, men and senior Citizens took part in Yoga.

For 21 June, 2018 arrangements of transport has been made for SOI Officials to reach at FRI campus before 5:00 AM to take part in International Yoga Day-2018 where our Hon'ble Prime Minister would attend the celebration.
Survey of India is organising a "Workshop on India-Thailand Cooperation in Geo-Spatial Technology" from 19-22 June, 2018 at Surveyor General’s Office, Survey of India, Dehradun. In the Workshop officers from Geo-Informatics & Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) Thailand, Survey of India & National Atlas and Thematic Mapping Organization (NATMO) are participating. During the Workshop, the future areas of cooperation in Geo-Spatial Technologies will be discussed and a road map for cooperation will be finalized.
All the Zonal Heads and Directors of GDC's of SOI are requested to encourage maximum participation of Officers/ Staff/ Family members to observe International Day of Yoga 0n 21st June 2018.
